J-10S two-seater aircraft bases on the development of same type single-seater fighter to be its fighter/trainer aircraft, first test flighted in 2003. With the tandem cockpit added a back seat for the trainer, J-10S can not only undertake the training mission of J-10, but also increase the attack performance of multi-functional. Its prominent feature is the large bubble-type canopy to ensure the pilot's good vision. J-10S can greatly speed up the formation of PLAF's third generation fighters, and follow the current multi-purpose development trend of other countries to become a good-to-ground/sea attack weapon platform.
